Abstract:
A novel distributed optical fiber vibration sensing system based on polarization detection is proposed and demonstrated. A Faraday rotator mirror is employed at the end of the system, which eliminates the slow polarization variation of signal light and only responses to rapid polarization change caused by external vibration interference.
